Hi Everyone,
I just returned from my trip to the Czech Republic and Germany, where both of my events went really well and were a lot of fun. I started the first day in Bruno, Czech Republic with a press conference on a local golf course. They asked me to hit a few balls off the first tee, and needless to say I was a bit rusty considering I haven't played golf in over 5 years! As you can see from the video I just posted I didn't start off well, but managed to make contact and get the 2nd ball in the air! During the first exhibition in Prostejov, I played a few different sets and tiebreakers with different
people including former WTA player Petra Langrova, former NHL player Jaromir Jagr and former Czech Republic Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek.
We had a good time on the court, and it was nice to be back in the Czech Republic. From Prostejov it was on to Halle, Germany to kick off the Gerry Weber Open with a mixed doubles exhibition. I played with my old friend, Nicolas Kiefer against Anna-Lena Gronefeld and Michael Stitch. The match was really close and the crowd was really into the match (German fans really know their tennis!) I have known Nicolas forever and we grew up playing juniors together, but never actually played mixed together so it was nice to finally be on the same court as him! It was also the first time I had played on grass since 2003 so I was definitely a bit nervous at the start.
I also want to thank our message board member 'wirbel2' for making the drive to Halle; it was so nice to be able to meet him (check out our picture I just posted).
