HardBat Classic in Las Vegas
June 30, 2009

Hi Everyone!

I just returned from Las Vegas where I attended the HardBat Classic on behalf of K-Swiss. K-Swiss was one of the main sponsors of the event, so it was cool for me to get the opportunity to learn about another sport I wasn’t really that familiar with. While I was at the tournament I managed to get a few pointers from Judah Friedlander of the NBC show 30 Rock and top ranked table tennis player Biba. They showed me some of the basics of the game while we were watching one of the bracket matches between two men. I had never really watched a competitive tournament match before, and I was really surprised at the intensity and quickness the game demands. It’s so much different than what you think it would be! I used to think of the game as just a recreational fun thing to do while hanging out with some friends, but having had the chance to learn a little more about the sport I now know it’s very competitive and has a lot of similarities to tennis. After watching a bit of the tournament, I had to do some press for K-Swiss and then attended a dinner with some of the other celebrities and the main sponsors of the event.  I had a chance to meet a lot of interesting people and had a great dinner in Vegas! After that I was on a plane back to Miami so that I could get back into my routine and get ready for WTT.

I would like to thank K-Swiss for having me and I also want to thank Judah and Biba for showing me how it is done! Hopefully the next time I play table tennis I will be able to use some of the pointers I learned this past weekend!
